For The Lost Key, I knew that I would need to create a poster that could help advertise my film trailer. This form of synergy is used in film and other media texts and it is a way to create excitement for upcoming productions. They are usually released alongside the release of the film's trailer.
At first I had a more basic idea for my poster where I had a few pictures on the black background but not as much information as a poster should. For example I did not include a release date or actor's names. However, I ended up using this as a screensaver on my website.
However, when I had made this I was disappointed because there were many conventions of a poster that I left out, so using the same pictures, and adding another, I managed to create a much more realistic poster that I was happy with.
I was also happy with the fact that I kept with the gold and black colour scheme that I had used in my trailers, as well as the same font of text. I also included things such as my actor's names and changed the layout from landscape to portrait, which is the norm for a film poster.
